About

I joined the law faculty at Michigan State University as an assistant professor in the Fall of 2022, where I teach Basic Income Taxation, Trusts and Estates, and Tax Policy. My research scrutinizes tax law by employing philosophy, economics, empirical research, and technology.

At NYU, I was a postdoctoral fellow and I was a Thomas Edison Innovation Law and Policy Fellow at George Mason University. I’ve held research positions at University of Arizona’s Philosophy Department, King’s College London Department of Political Economy (London) and Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Economics (Munich).

I have a JD and a PhD from Ghent University, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Philosophy from Ghent University. Prior to my academic career, I was trained as a practicing lawyer at DLA Piper LLP.
